Writer’s Quote Wednesday on a Thursday

Standard

During one of our WP classes (a writing course I think), we were made to ‘kill our darlings’. What does that mean to a writer?

You have done your best, written your heart out with plenty of adverbs and big words with no meanings (sometimes), to get a book that keeps your audience coming for more and more of your world, sometimes you need to kill your darlings.

EDIT!

Hence my quote for today….Writer's Quote Wednesday_050815

Even in real life situations, when you are on the other end of a rebuke or criticism, it’s no fun but like I said, to bring out the best in you, in your article, your photograph you need to bring it under the pruning knife and cut away. Clip…clip…clip.

Like Paul would say, “Forgetting the things that are behind, I press on…”

It’s WQW, Colleen and a few other writers are ready on hand to motivate you to be inspired and be a better writer, meet new friends and have fun whilst doing it. By the way she is silver-haired and so much fun to be with!
