The Gift called Silence

Rushing to my lips were a variety of ‘amazing’ responses,
Suited for the cacophony of ‘shades’ shot at my defenses.
Begging to be released, so they wash the other
As if by this singular act, restore order.
Yet, the barricade upon my lips held it grounds,
Causing my insides to bear these painful rounds.
Taking pride and finding love in sweet words;
These, sliced deep and hurt like battle-field swords.
Silence ruled and reigned in my world of many voices,
As different options in my mind held its vices.

Toying with the script I plan to play, with no one for audience,
I created scenes and crops for that day of rewarding offence.
Silently, I weighed, analyzed and found guilty each word
Silently, the Word taunted me to give up my right to God
Silently, with pain gnawing at my core
I pushed past each unmemorable bore
Suggestions of peace came a knocking
Revenge said, “you gat to be joking!”
I had my chances to let it all out and think later
I said no, because a peace trophy is always better.

Silence is a precious gift…
I’m glad I used for this rift.

#Writer’s Quote Wednesday

I know Colleen missed me! I’m almost tempted to say she missed me more than I missed her. LOL! Good news is I’m back! It’s #WQW today, and before I went AWOL, I had promised her to do a quote that was Colleen-inspired.

Writer's Quote Wednesday_211015Further to one of my earlier quotes, Colleen said this and it was mind-blowing…I can bet you she didn’t even realised she had said something worth repeating. I will rehash it in our ears, as most of us need to be reminded that life will always offer us opportunities to exhibit our gifts. It is one thing to prepare for the time of your showing forth, another to be able to handle limelight and yet another to co-ordinate the times you are ‘just-you-without-the-cheering-maddening-crowd!’

But like Colleen encourages us, when you find the balance attached to your gifts, only then do you truly ENJOY that gift and become a gift to others. This is my gift to you today <3.

Weekly Small Pleasures

#weeklysmallpleasures

This week has been quite delightful…it seemed that God gave me a blank cheque. Well, for starters I was blessed with a new phone Yippee…still dancing. Amidst promises of more gifts…so looking forward to it. And you know what it’s helping with my Photography 101 assignments and the pictures are just gorgeous I show you some just so you get the feel wink

My friend got a gift he had been praying for for his birthday too…double high five.

And I got answers to prayers I hadn’t made yet…so you see why I’m all excited about my week. I decided not to do so much pictures but tell you how it was. How was your week?

How could I have forgotten to mention this. Yesterday as I walked out of the door to go to work, my really cute, well-spoken son ran after me…stopped me in my tracks gave me a kiss. As I hurried out, he called me back, gave me a very warm and big hug and stopped me yet again to give me a handshake before saying …”See you later mummy.” And I was wondering what I did right that morning to get all these affection… such always go to daddy! I love him ❤
