#ThankfulThursdays – Just because I Am!

Dear God,

It’s so easy to complain about the traffic I have to endure every morning and every evening on my way to and from work. The many hours I get to wait before I get a vehicle. But someone, has been praying to get a job, and no response yet; “If only, they’ll take me, I’m tired of sitting at home!” they pray daily.

It’s easy to complain about the rising cost of foodstuff, yet someone threw away food yesterday, because it had stayed too long in the fridge to the point that it got bad because of PHCN and their magic called light.

How about the complaints of having to repeat dresses, shirts, trousers? By the way, the mad man on the street is still wearing the same barely-covering-anywhere clothes for months now and he keeps trudging the streets, having serious conversations with all the unseen and I’m not sure where he sleeps.

The list in endless…but these paint the picture.

Did I remember to greet You and ask how You are doing with the affairs of keeping us in line? I don’t think so, You are God and it’s so easy for You to coordinate that. I guess! 🙈

Well, I just popped in to say thank You for all those really beautiful miracles this week from total strangers. Just when I was feeling like, why do You let me go through all this, You send someone to tap me out of the thoughts and offer me help. Twice, this week. I know it’s You, because it’s got Your prints all over it.

Thank You especially for beautiful songs that spring up too and make me dance without realizing where I am. It makes me lost in the amazement of Your deep love for me. Indeed, nothing and no one can separate me from Your love and like You used Gochii to point out again, this JOY You’ve given to me, if I keep connecting to it, nothing or no one can STILL it.

Just a note to say, I love it that You love me more…*wink*

Week 8 of Thankfulness

This week is not over, as a matter of fact, it just started. But, I’m thankful for every life that comes my way and the opportunity I get to say something to them that makes all the difference, helps them understand a bit better and leave with a smile. Even when the situation is still the same and there’s no sure way out around us yet, they leave with a better attitude.

And you know what Hope does, it keeps you pressing on!

That is what I’m thankful for so far.

#Lyrical Monday – Gratitude

I sat and thought how quickly the year and passed by and said to tell you, “You are appreciated, even when I don’t say it often. I wrote this just now to say Love you I do! ❤ “

Today, I choose to be more grateful than usual
Things may have ended in ways I find brutal
People indeed showed their different colours
In shades I didn’t always adore with fading pallor
The ones I truly loved gave the heart a cut so deep
Those I couldn’t be bothered for, didn’t care when there was a beep
My faith in people, things, and structures was shaken
But it’s foundation in God was not forsaken

Today after all has been said and done
Some hearts won and others torn
I am thankful, I still have you and you
And how I managed that? Ain’t got a clue!
I might not be the best me there is just yet
But no matter how you search, it’s just one you’ll find I bet!
So let’s do what makes us click like the sounds of crystals sweet
Like run on the beach with sands and water running through our bare feet.

That the best minds are born in November (no apologies to the months…you know I love you guys ❤ )

That 8th was my birthday and I was too busy to celebrate, however I am thankful for all the WONDER-FILLED gifts I got…not your usual gifts – God did it!

That it is in November-borns to love without hesitation and deeply too and when they walk…it is truly very far! No further comments on that one.

That it seems a common trend for November people to be good at showing how much they care for another using the Love language that is unique to each?!

That I share the same month with my dad, cousins, niece and nephew and lots of friends.

So, this is me today in the mood for The Experience 10 happening live at TBS, Onikan on Friday, 4th December @41 + 9 days grateful, 7 + 4 + King thankful.

And to all my beautiful people born in November…
I sometimes may find it hard to remember
To celebrate you and what you represent
May God continue to set you apart for greatness and no descent,
May He light up your every dark and unsure paths
Leading you through unique and blessed tracks
May the uniqueness that sets us apart
Keep you from constant bleeding hearts
For one who loves and loves deeply
I know that’s a long shot to keep keenly
To more fulfilling years ahead
As new lives we touch and add to our herd
