A Cloak of Deceit

Coming like a cover to protect and keep
Acknowledging the warmth, did my heart beep
A tug, a snuggle closer to keep from cold's bite.
Hid the truth beneath, a smile, a sneer - hell's fright!
Panic painted the picture and my heart raced.
Creeping in, unsure thoughts of what to do reigned
A friend had become a fiend without drama
A handshake, a hug, a kiss turned dagger!
Yet, I'm covered in a cloak of "warmth"...
From one I thought cared and would hold forte.

A representative that spoke with pure "light"
was a purveyor, a means of hell's delight.
With soft, white fleece like that of sheep,
a voice so sweet that says, "more sleep"
Relayed "truths" that had no fruits...
with the finesse of a brute.
A smile, soft eyes, "caring words", yet a mask
all to assist him get done with the task!
Coming like a cover I uncovered...
The subtle patterns of a devourer.

#MotivationalMonday – Attitude

Yesterday and over the weeks, so many incidences made me have a re-think about people and situations and as much as I try not to compare them, when you see a pattern – it is easy to tell if there’s change coming or we are in for a long horrible ride with that person.

Bad attitude sucks!

Granted, no one particularly likes being scolded or corrected. But like our on-point manual and Book of Life says, “God corrects those He loves” and in another place, “Godly sorrow leads to repentance.”

Yes, I know some people have taken the duty of criticizing everything you do. But when what is being complained about is done by other people too, then you really need to Stop, Listen, Sieve and get to work; on YOURSELF!

These days when I hear certain complaints, I take the exercise myself. Other times, I simply just feel the check in me immediately and I rearrange or ask different buddies for their opinions and then I easily see a ‘Repeat’ suggestion which I follow.

• Stop
• Listen
• Sieve
• Work
• Intentionally become the New You.

Sometimes, people don’t change. So, you work on you!

People I've met

Bring it back Lucile!

Lucile de GodoyThe first time I met Lucile was because of a post she wrote on telling the truth to a friend and the cost of it (that’s was not the topic but basically the content). Actually, I met two bloggers that day, the other one delighted in being bad and that brought him readship, after a while of seeing nothing interesting again, I unfollowed him and that was my first and only. But Lucile maintained her sweet nature all through the months and later confessed she wasn’t much of a writer, I didn’t believe her. Now I know she writes very well by that I mean – says it the way it is and at the same time tries not to hurt her readers by her sincerity.

Lucile is 😦 … why?

Because she just realised that some of our readers actually don’t read our post and that includes our Facebook friends, they just ‘like’ and move on. So to sift the wheat from the chaff she took off the LIKE button! And typical of Lucile to graciously explain why she did what she did. It is quite annoying to notice that people can ‘like’ a blank page. You will have to read her post to understand but it’s okay. At least she is srrounded by just people that want to be part of her world.

So what’s my point? I l ❤ ve Lucile’s page and she has amazing pictures and post. Occasionally, I like some pictures and comment on the ones that I can’t resist and now she’s made me 😦 by taking that away! I will respect her choice, while pleading for her to bring it back after a while though.

Hope you are much better Lucile. LOL and a big Hug.
