#Weekend Treat – Misguided Anger

Standard

Anger is anger and that’s not nice in the first instance. But when anger is misguided, it reels off like a tornado making destruction colour the landscape, releasing words in different directions – not minding who the missile hits or the aftermath.

A well-planned anger against a system (gone wrong) or ideology would state what is not okay, and how to correct it, not just blast everyone involved and go to the next victim. How have you helped the situation? How has your invectives changed anything except expose your own inadequacies in the matter and your hidden hatred for your subject of discussion or let’s call a spade what it is, your lack of adequate understanding and sometimes low self-esteem when compared to what you are ranting about.

The world is moving on and constantly changing, we have to go beyond the many complains and get to the point that we address what is not okay no matter whose ox is gored, proffer solutions, point out the way to seek that help and move on. Like my friend the President – FK does, she brings out the ‘wahala’, and compares a similar situation that had happened and how it was solved and tells us how to sort ours. Do I always agree with her? No, but by the time we share understanding from her view, mine and every other person that joins in the conversation, we find answers.

Whatever your grievance is, make it balanced. Something you will be proud of years from now. I don’t want to say much. But if you do, I will oblige you. Enjoy your Sunday.

#WeekendTreat -Love vs Maturity

Standard

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/ac/7b/97/ac7b97d183b9eff7a70fbbed947a649e.jpgSo much has happened today and it has got me thinking…again. Why do we fight needless battles? I always say “I won’t do battles without spoils”. I know when we hear ‘spoils’, we tend to think of trophies, cups and medals. But sometimes, SPOILS are letting go and being the ‘loser’. So this is where I ask myself and ask you too – would you rather have peace in your world/heart or a trophy gathering dust on your shelf. Think about it.

It’s okay to stand your ground and maintain just so the other person knows there’s more to you than meets the eye, I have that ‘craze’ in me too, but to what end? There’s so much hatred and uncooked beef (grievances) around us already, let’s try in our own little way to spread peace and show love. It makes you more matured than you know. Remember, silence pays off too! Proverbs 17:28 says Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. (KJV) and Proverbs 12:17 continues “Fools have short fuses and explode all too quickly; the prudent quietly shrug off insults.” (MSG).

So what would you rather be called?
