#WQWWC – Inspiration

Colleen wants to know what inspires me. Too bad that cannot be covered in a page or two as some are intangible and can’t be described, painted or explained. I’ve tried to capture some of my inspirational moments, smiling as I remember each. This is for you Colleen, one of my inspiration source. https://silverthreading.com/2016/06/01/wqwwc-writers-quote-wednesday-writing-challenge-inspiration/

With the fluttering of wings
The words in my heart sings
Dancing to tunes, not phone rings
That take shapes on paper and blinks
Beyond heavy chains and metal blings
With the smile of a child
My creative thoughts run wild
Baring fantasies that won’t hide
As through the winds you glide
From the Word in the Word
To the strength of two-edged swords
Juices drip and flood the chords
Rhymes grip the unwritten buds
Life, death, loss, gain
Strife, birth, cost, rain
Wife, breath, frost, grain
Knife, health, bust, plain
I easily exhale and relate
That which causes me no debate
Inspirations do not deserve to wait
Let’s rock, roll and continue to create.

Challenge Project Laughter

Time up, Pastor!

For this week’s challenge on #WQWWC, Ronovan chose Laughter. Here’s my take on it

In Nigeria and I believe everyother place, the festive period is a time for connecting, celebrations and of course eating!!! You need to check out our Christmas holidays. I wrote about my experience some time back.

Growing up in a Christian setting, it was the norm for little Blossom’s (Duch B) family to be in church for thanksgiving every December. This December was no exception and they were in the village! The Anglican Pastor (probably from excitement of seeing so many people at this period) preached a very loooong sermon. Blossom (5years+), who had gotten tired of listening, left her mother’s side (unbeknownst to her), walked boldly down the aisle to the altar with arms akimbo and in a loud voice, told the Pastor that he was talking too much! 🙂Enough_150416

Her mum was so embarrassed that she couldn’t even get up to pick her, as they were seated at the back and the aisle (you bet) was a long way off. A long walk to freedom you’d say!

Writer’s Quote Wednesday Writing Challenge – Romance

Colleen and Ronovan started a new challenge and you know me, I’m up for a challenge any day especially when it comes to poetry. By the way I just wrote this! Thank you both of you for the motivation to write again!

Romance

A Blend of Two Worlds

From one sphere to another I roamed
Seeking one whose complexity I could easily tow
They came, saw, pretended and fled becoming dumb
Say something! Speak your heart’s thought, let it drum
Let the desires form images of songs to which I can dance
I owe no one but me to let loose and do the prance
The chains of conformity have long held me in deformity
Today, tonight, I break free and become one in uniformity
Perhaps it will last a life time that I cannot tell
But when I look back, I desire to have a worthy tale!
