Dear God

I hope I’m not sounding contrived when I say good morning to You. Maybe I’m just being naughty and trying to get your attention. But I’ve had that since, so this can only mean one thing – it’s time to talk.

When I come to You with my heart full and needing to pour just to breakthrough
It’s no April fool or a tool to jump the lines to get to You.
I just need You!

When in Your presence I seem unsure of that which once was but now feels like force. I chose to trust that You will sense my hesitation and hold my attention.
I seek You!

It’s only a fool that says there’s no You. For if they were true to their essence and paid heed to the gapping hole in them (that isn’t assuaged by anything), only then will it become clear… that You seek Truth and Spirit, not brute and spirits.

When my lips can’t say what my heart feels, understand me
When layers and layers of clothing cover the “truth”, search me
When rights prevent me from obedience, don’t turn away, pull me
When it’s more than I can bear, and I can’t draw on Your strength, carry me

Dear God, it’s me again… is it OK to say talk to You later? I seek rest. Read me!

Like Your Child…

Just one of those days, I feel like expressing my love to the Father of Love and just be in His presence without airs.

#LyricalMonday – Behind the Smiles

It is that ‘smile’ that covers like a mask, hiding the true intent. The one that sucks you in, making you comfortable …until, the prick! Sleeping Beauty can easily identify with this.

#LyricalMonday – Mayah’s Thought

I totally enjoy talking with babies, children and watching their mannerisms, trying to decipher what they need or are up to. On a visit to Mayah some time back, I read her thoughts…don’t tell her o! LOL

Mayah is my baby, my son has his eyes on her …Mmeme and Ziya, take note. So we have had several discussions every morning she stops by the office before heading to her creche. This was one of such days. By the next poem, I will take you to the next level of our conversation. Enjoy!

#LyricalMonday – In my world

There are days you pray, wish, dream, try to create your world to have a certain outlook and it’s just DULL! What do you do?

Today isn’t one of those days for me though 🙂 Yippee! Perhaps, that was your story. You can do what I do when I’m faced with that, go into that special place you keep happy moments and stuffs that make you break out in a smile and just pitch a tent there till you are truly saturated. That was the inspiration behind this piece.

I truly hope your evening is so much magical! Enjoy!

#LyricalMonday – How dare you?!

I got up and had this conversation with myself, as I empathized with an unseen unknown person caught up in the place between the valley and the mountain…a place of uncertainty and despair, surrounded by people who throw words from vocabulary they have never experienced and I imagined the person pretending to ‘accept’ what was said “Just so you leave me alone”. The sympathizer leaves feeling fulfilled and the questions flow unending in the other’s mind and I asked ‘How dare you?’

But then again, this is a fight of faith, to steal the flicker of light that gives us hope in despair. It’s a battle and one you must win. So whilst you ask the question, be reassured of the answer, there is light at the end of the tunnel no matter how dim it is.
